My current work focuses on extracting the details and epressive marks from abstract paintings to produce 'prints' as one-off editions. Wheel thrown ceramics featuring these slices of expression, bringing two mediums together to create a collaboration embodying my favourite elements of both.

Inspired by the local landcape, the shape of the coastline in Poole transcribed perfectly into the continuous line style drawing I enjoy.
These bowls are a multitude of processes. First they are wheel thrown and left to dry until leather hard before being trimmed. Then I cover the interior of the bowl in a cobalt slip and once dry, carve out the lines of the coastline, on one side the Sandbanks peninsular and Poole Harbour, on the other, Studland Bay. Sometimes, the tiny islands of Brownsea and co. feature, each is hand drawn so completely unique. The bowls are then bisque fired, glazed in a transparent glaze and fired for a second time.
